A great big thank you to my dear friend for dressing up in her Alice costume. It was perfect!!

the spread

The party goers dined on tarts, tea and confections to their hearts delight. And no one was late for this very important date.

Thank you Julie for letting us borrow your table and rounding up chairs for us . . . . we couldn't have done this without you!

the decorations

Our backyard was transformed into Wonderland this afternoon for the Divine Miss O's fifth birthday party. We popped the gazebo, set out a table, hung some paper lanterns and set the table for tea.

Croquet anyone?

Tea for 12

I must have red roses or Off With Your Head!!
(Actually these are silk roses stuffed in our boxwoods. Don't tell the Queen.)

happy 5th birthday Miss O

The Divine Miss O turned five years old yesterday. It's hard to believe. Another year gone in a blink of an eye. She is an amazing and beautiful little girl. And we love her so!

The girls and I picked the boys up early from work and school and headed to the zoo. We spent four hours walking around and saw everything. Fun!! We stopped at Red Robin for dinner and came home to open gifts and eat cake. It was a great day.

Miss O loved the flamingos . . . . . amazingly we got out of the zoo without buying any souvenirs including the adorable pink, stuffed flamingos.

These three crazy monkeys belong in the zoo.

The hippos were fun to watch. I think they've introduced a new little guy. He is restless and kept getting in and out of the water, bugging the two older hippos.

Two cubs . . .

We got to see the baby gorilla. So sweet.

My favorite . . .

It was fun to walk through the butterfly exhibit. I tried out the macro setting on my camera . . . worked great!

We were just in time to see the brown bears and otters get their dinner. It was a hoot to watch.

Here is a rare siting . . . . ME!

gettin' jiggy with it

Today marked the very last day of preschool! It was a bittersweet affair. I'm so thrilled to be done with this little journey but sad to see the six little people I have become accustom to seeing every week go on their way.

My friend has her little girl in the second "little kids" class and we combined our classes these last two days of school totaling 13 two and three year olds. Yes, you read that right . . . . 13 two and three year olds. Yowsa!! Today we put together a little song fest and my friend borrowed my camera to take pictures of her daughter. She caught this little gem of Baby Love and it made me smile.

bubble-mania

After many of days of rain, we finally got a sun break and we brought out the brand-new bubble machine. It was a total hit!! Even Angus (the dog) liked running around biting bubbles. Good times!

boys on the field

J and Wonder Boy went to their "little league" baseball day last weekend. The little league teams get to parade around the Mariner's diamond at Safeco field. It's a fun day and the kids enjoy hanging out together

J came home to tell me at one point he was digging around for snacks and when he looked up, Wonder Boy's face was on the jumbotron (a giant movie theater screen) dancing around and making faces. That's my boy!

let's be friends: Miss O dances

The Divine Miss O's dance recital was last night. She and her class danced to a little ditty titled "Let's Be Friends". It was cute. She loved it! The costumes were adorable. The little blondy girl she twirls around with is her best little buddy. They are the same age (five days apart/two years size difference).

goin to the zoo, how 'bout you

The last field trip of the year for Wonder Boy's kindergarten class was yesterday. In the POURING rain. I volunteered to be a chaperone. Here's my group.

I love the look on Wonder Boy's face. It says it all.

Here's the newest attraction to our local zoo. The flamingos or as the little boy in my group kept calling them . . . . . "chickens". Gotta love it!!
